The Rockefellers land in Spain with golf, hotel and luxury villas and the chosen place is Sotogrande. Christian A. Rockefeller, the visible head of the sixth generation of the rich American saga has been made with more than 200 hectares in the area.
A complex with luxury villas, a golf course and a hotel, is the business card of the millionaire Rockefeller family on their landing in Spain and more specifically in Sotogrande (San Roque) where they plan to carry out their first real estate project in our country after acquiring more than 200 hectares in front of the La Alcaidesa farm.
The project includes an 18-hole golf course designed by Henrik Stenson Golf Design, luxury villas of up to 1,000 square meters and a boutique hotel, while the villas will be designed by the Archea firm, directed by Marco Casamonti. A project that will be carried out together with the company Brands Lab International and ICICB Developments.
To tackle this project, ICICB Developments set up a Spanish subsidiary last March, with registered office in Algeciras (Cádiz), and which is being in charge of directing the entire project on the ground. The firm is chaired by Ljuba Samardzic, who is also a partner of BRE Holding (Branded Real Estate), the real estate platform promoted by the Rockefeller family, together with Brands Lab and which opens in Sotogrande. Delos, the world leader in wellness certification, in which David Rockefeller is a shareholder, is also expected to participate.
The municipality of San Roque currently has seven golf courses, The San Roque Club (36 holes), La Reserva Club (18), Alcaidesa Links Golf Resort (36), Almenara Golf Club (27), Club de Golf La Cañada (18), Real Club Valderrama (18) and Real Club de Golf Sotogrande (18).
Just last summer the luxury brand SO / Hotels & Resorts, of the Accor group, opened its new five-star hotel built in the Real Club de Golf Sotogrande on the old Hotel Almenara with 152 rooms, 36 of them suites, «setting new standards in the luxury hotel industry ‘, as the company stated.
